Credit or Debit Card — Payment of CAD $7 fee via credit or debit card
Valid Email Address — You will receive your eTA approval via email

Do Brazilian citizens need a visa for Canada in 2025?: As of November 2025, Brazilian citizens traveling by air can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead of a visitor visa. The eTA costs CAD $7 and is processed within minutes. For land or sea travel, a visitor visa (CAD $100) is still required.
How long can Brazilians stay in Canada?: Brazilian citizens with an eTA can stay in Canada for up to 6 months per visit. The exact length of stay is determined by the border officer upon arrival.
How long is the Canada eTA valid?: The eTA is valid for up to 5 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. During this period, you can make multiple trips to Canada.
Can I work in Canada with an eTA?: No, the eTA is only for tourism, visiting family or friends, or business visits. You cannot work in Canada with an eTA. You would need a work permit for employment.
What if my eTA application is denied?: If your eTA is denied, you will receive an explanation. You may need to apply for a regular visitor visa instead, which involves a more detailed application process.
Do I need an eTA for connecting flights through Canada?: Yes, if you are transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to another country, you will need an eTA even if you don’t plan to leave the airport.
