Do Canadian citizens need a visa for Brazil in 2025?: Yes, as of April 10, 2025, Canadian citizens must obtain an e-Visa before traveling to Brazil. The previous visa-free arrangement has been replaced with the e-Visa requirement.
How long can I stay in Brazil with an e-Visa?: The e-Visa allows stays of up to 90 days per visit. You can make multiple entries within the 5-year validity period, but total stays cannot exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.
How long does the Brazil e-Visa take to process?: Most e-Visa applications are processed within 2 to 5 business days. However, it is recommended to apply at least 2 weeks before your trip to allow for any unexpected delays.
How long is the Brazil e-Visa valid?: The e-Visa is valid for 5 years from the date of issue, or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. It allows multiple entries during this period.
Can I extend my stay in Brazil?: You may be able to extend your stay by applying at the Federal Police in Brazil before your 90 days expire. Extensions are granted on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
What if I already have a valid physical Brazil visa?: If you have a valid physical visa stamp in your passport issued before April 10, 2025, you do not need to apply for an e-Visa. Your existing visa remains valid until its expiry date.
