Do Chinese citizens need a visa to visit Indonesia?: Yes, but you can easily get one. Chinese citizens can obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) directly at Indonesian airports, or apply online for an e-VOA before traveling. No embassy visit required.
What is the difference between VOA and e-VOA?: VOA (Visa on Arrival) is obtained at the airport counter when you arrive in Indonesia. e-VOA is applied for online before you travel. Both cost the same and allow 30-day stays. e-VOA lets you skip the VOA queue at the airport.
How much does the Indonesia tourist visa cost?: The Visa on Arrival costs IDR 500,000 (approximately $32 USD). You can pay in cash (USD, Rupiah) or by card at the airport. The e-VOA has a similar cost plus a small service fee.
Can I extend my Indonesia tourist visa?: Yes, the VOA/e-VOA can be extended once for an additional 30 days, giving you a maximum stay of 60 days. Extensions must be applied for at an Indonesian immigration office before your initial visa expires.
Where can I get a Visa on Arrival in Indonesia?: VOA is available at major entry points including Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Medan, and other international airports, as well as some seaports. Check the official list of entry points that offer VOA.
What payment methods are accepted for VOA?: At the airport, you can pay in Indonesian Rupiah, US Dollars, or by credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard). For e-VOA, payment is made online by card. Exact change is helpful if paying cash.
